1. Atticus, Jem, and Scout are some of the people who belive that Tom has a chance. While all of the white population say he is guilty
#2 Reverend Sykes and the rest of the African American spectators stand for Atticus because they know that he tried his best. They know that he is fair. He doesn't judge people.
#1. Atticus, Jem, and Scout are just a few of the people that believe Tom has a chance. The bad thing is though is that there are only very few people that believe this. They know that he never committed the crime that was held against him.
2.They had respect for him. They think that Tom may have a chance. They think that Atticus did a good job.
#2 They want to support him because they appreciated what Atticus did for Tom. Even though Tom was found guilty they still believe that Atticus did his best to help Tom Robinson.

2. I think they stood up for him even after the defeat because they had so much respect for him. He did something for them that was almost unacceptible to his kind. He defended a black person. And they were very thankful to him.

The Finche's and just a few other people believe that Tom actually had a chance to be found not guilty. The only bad thing is that there were only very few people that actually believed this. They all know that had never comitted the crime that they said he did.
1. Atticus, Jem, Dill, Scout and all the black people think Tom has a good chance of being set free. They beleive this because Tom gave a good testimony and Atticus had a good closing statement. But if the lose, Atticus says he will get an repeal.
#2 They stood up for Atticus becuase he tried his best to help Tom. They knew he cared about Tom. If it wasn't for Atticus, Tom would not have had any hope at all.
#2 They all stood because of three reasons probably, (1)because they were 'lower' than he was.(2)Because he had defended a black man and they wanted to show their gratitude.(3)Because he believed Tom. All of these could be reasons for standing while he passed through.

I think they stand because they respect him. He defended a black man, and tried his best. They are proud that he cared about Tom.

2. When Aticus took Toms case he was doing what most people wouldnt do. Back then people would not defend a black person. The African-Americans stood to thank him for his deed.

Reverend Sykes and the rest of the African American spectators stand for Atticus. I think this because they are also African American. I think why they still stand for Atticus even when he was found guilty was because they know that he is inicent and he is their friend.

Jem, Scout, and Atticus are about the only people that think Tom has a chance of being set free. They think that because all the white people like black people and don't really think he is guilty they are just racist.
